B i o g r a p h y

My love for music began at an early age.  Almost as soon as I began talking, I began singing.  As a toddler, I would sing narrations of my daily life whether or not I had an audience.  This natural inclination towards music inspired me to begin learning piano at age 5, and I have been studying music ever since.

Now, at age 21, I will be graduating in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Music in Composition-Technology.  I compose for all types of ensembles, instruments, and mixed media.  I also write jazzy pop music.  I have found a new love in film scoring, and the past two years have allowed me to explore merging my dramatic authorial voice with the creative vision of film.  (You can see some of my latest projects by clicking on the "Media Projects" tab above.)

"Music tells each listener his or her own story...it is my hope that the music I write gives the listener a glimpse into their own soul."

I believe that music tells each listener his or her own story.  No experience is as real as your own, and I seek to write music true to my life so that others will find it true to theirs as well.  Whether with words or with notes understood in every dialect, music is a deeply personal experience for an audience. Melding classical compositional and theory techniques with an "everyday listener" sensibility, it is my hope that the music I write engages every person, gives them a glimpse into their own soul, and draws them further into the beautiful world of music that has become my home.
